Google Goggles Now on the iPhone

Goggles is a Labs product that Google introduced back in December of last year for Android devices. As its name implies, it involves the visual spectrum, allowing you to snap a photo using your device’s camera and using that to initiate a search. Now you can both talk to, and show Google’s iPhone app what it is you’re looking for.
Just download Google Mobile App from the App Store for free, and tap the camera button to search using Goggles. Goggles will then highlight elements of the image it recognizes, and you can tap on those areas to find out more. Google has a short video explaining the process:
Revolutionary: Apple TV Could Be for Places, Not Just People
Just like iPads are for places, not people, there’s potentially more to Apple TV than meets the eye. And yes, it all hinges on the availability of apps and iAds on the Apple TV. As the world ponders what will be the killer app for the Apple TV, think for a moment about terminals that display live data for hotels, conferences, and mass transit meeting places like airports, bus and train stations.
These locations have all transitioned away from print and toward live, self-updating kiosks. Call centers, data centers, offices and various places of employment are likewise headed the same way. Just like iPhones and iPod touches can be used for point-of-sale (POS) transactions, iOS can also help Apple TVs replace the extremely outdated Windows in the realm of the commercial display.

LG Says Android is Not Tablet-Ready...Yet
Electronics manufacturer LG has scrapped plans for its upcoming Android-based tablet computer, saying that the current version of the Google Android mobile operating system (version 2.2, code-named "Froyo") isn't ready for tablets.
According to a Reuters report, an unnamed LG exec said "we plan to introduce a tablet that runs on the most reliable Android version...and that is not Froyo 2.2."
The report notes that the delay may cause a setback for the company whose mobile handset division is already suffering - its smartphone sales have yet to reach the 1 million unit mark as of yet. LG hopes the introduction of Android smartphones will help it recover in this area.
Meanwhile, competitor Samsung, makers of the popular Galaxy S Android smartphones, plans to launch its own Android 2.2-based tablet called the "Galaxy Tab" next month.
Google TV Will "Change the Way People Live their Lives"
It's Google TV week, with major announcements coming from early application development and media partners and the unveiling of Google TV hardware from Logitech on Wednesday.
How big a deal is Google TV? Mike Hudack, the respected CEO of free video publishing platform Blip.tv, wrote today that Google TV is the real deal - a technology that will knock down the walls between traditional broadcast studio TV and the long-tail of open video content produced by consumers, producing free choice and competition. It will bring new and previously marginalized voices to the world's stage. Steve Jobs said in his latest Apple TV unveiling that consumers "don't want amateur hour" on their TVs. Google vs Apple will once again be the Open Web vs. the Curated Web, this time on TV.
