Macally’s Bookstand Case for Apple iPad(Hands-On)
I admit it: I don’t like the Apple-designed iPad case. Oh, it’s well made and offers a nice angle for typing, but it’s a little tippy in landscape and I’m not a fan of the edge seams. So after two months of searching, I decided to purchase the Macally Bookstand case
What App Developers Think of the New iPhone(Video)
After the iPhone 4 presentation at Apple’s WWDC in San Francisco on Monday, I hit the town to talk to app developers at the event center, outside in the street, and back at their offices about their perceptions of Steve Jobs’ latest and greatest device. Here’s a video to give you a flavor of the scene.
An Android User’s Take On Yesterday’s iPhone News
Yesterday’s Apple keynote was, I think more than ever, a testament to Steve Jobs’s presentation skills. Faced with an audience that had already seen the grand finale, he still had no trouble evoking plenty of gleeful gasps and applause. He even managed to make the now-infamous Wifi glitch amusing and entertaining (if a bit odd), rather than painfully awkward. Updated Applications Disappearing from Android Market
This is one headline Google doesn't want to see this morning. Microsoft Rolls Out Office Web Apps
Microsoft rolled out Microsoft Office Web Apps on Skydrive to users in the U.S., U.K., Canada and Ireland yesterday. Users can login with their free Live accounts and create and edit Word 2010, PowerPoint 2010, OneNote 2010 and Excel 2010 documents in their browsers, and store them in the cloud.
Bing Opens to Developers with Maps SDK & Search Library for PHP
Good news for developers and fans of mashups, as this morning Microsoft has announced the availability of a software development kit (SDK) for building map apps on Bing Maps. What's more, last week Microsoft announced the creation of the Bing Search Library for PHP - a wrapper built in conjunction with PHP expert Cal Evans that gives developers easy access to the Bing Search API via PHP. Microsoft seems to be embracing third-party developers more openly now with these tools, so here's a breakdown of what's available now.
Gmail Makes Voice & Video Chat Easier
Google today announced that it has made video, voice and group chat easier to access from within Gmail.
One change is the presence of an icon for the voice and video chat plugin. If the person you're chatting with from within Gmail doesn't have that plugin, you can one-click the icon to issue them an invitation.
