Microsoft announced a major update to its Windows Live for the Cloud

windows_live_logo.jpgMicrosoft just announced a major update to its Windows Live Essentials tools for the Windows desktop. The updated applications include the Windows Photo Gallery, Movie Maker, Mail and Live Writer.  While there are a lot of feature updates to these apps (and the Ribbon now features prominently in these apps), the big story here is that these apps are now more intimately connected to the cloud.

The New Networking Reality,Zettabyte

server cable mashIn four years, Internet Protocol (IP) traffic will increase fourtimes to 767 exabytes, or more than three-quarters of a zettabyte. That is equivalent to 16 billion DVDs; 21 trillion MP3's; or 399 quadrillion text messages.

That's the conclusion of Cisco's annual Visual Networking Index, a report that demonstrates how data will soon become ubiquitous and why the networking race is becoming one to watch.

Should we prolong the use of these large black and white codes in order to help users and customers identify augmented reality experiences? This morning, during his keynote before the second day of the event, Bruno Uzzan, CEO of AR titan Total Immersion, announced the creation of a logo the company hopes will become a standard for identifying AR applications.
