Skype v2.0 drops for iPhone, now it enables calls over 3G

Skype has just dropped v2.0 through the App Store.

Call using your 3G connection. Skype-to-Skype calls on 3G are free until at least end of August 2010, after which there will be a small monthly fee (operator charges for data will still apply).

AT&T tells their employees of iPhone4 unveils in June

According to BGR, AT&T HQ has internally confirmed to that there will be an iPhone launch next month, with the device hitting the shelves before the month is out. According to their tipster, “it won’t even be late June.”

Finally the Facebook is releasing its first official SDK for Android, According to the AllFacebook, this SDK is actually more advanced than the iPhone SDK because it features Facebook’s Graph API, According to the post on Facebook’s Developer blog, the SDK also uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication and the ability to publish stories to Facebook using Feed forms.

Android is now begining to get that kind of free publicity too. All of this plays into the idea that the Apple and Google will push one another to make better products, because again, they’re on equal footing.

Android provide Skype Video, So 2010 the Year of Mobile Video chat?

The fast-growing of Android users will be able to video chat thanks to a Skype mobile application that will hit the marketplace with video functionality "later this year." According to the gadget blog Skatter Tech, Skype representatives have been quoted confirming the release of a carrier-independent app that will allow users to use voice and video to chat on their Android devices.

"We're betting big on video, and we intend to set the bar on mobile video calling, and it's something we're going to do this year," said Skype PR representative Brianna Reynaud. "We will be bringing a direct to consumer app to the Android marketplace later this year. This application will be available for all consumers globally to download regardless of carriers."
