Android fragmentation

Android fragmentation has been a hot issue with the platform's fast update, and now Android's open source and compatibility program manager Dan Morrill has shared his thoughts on the nasty F-word.  Morrill believes that fragmentation "is a bogeyman, a red herring, a story you tell to frighten junior developers," and that it's used to create articles to drive traffic to blogs.

Samsung Wave(Bada-Powered) shipping with suspected virus

Mobile Burn today found that the review phone which was sent to them from Samsung contains the malware program “slmvsrv.exe” and an autorun.inf file that will install the virus as soon as you plug it in (on any Windows PC that has Autorun enabled, that is). The virus will then infect every other removable drive that you plug into the PC.

Google Eyes Mobile App Market, lack of New Search

The Google Mobile team released a new type of search results today: Android and iPhone native apps. It's a very goodt idea, but the execution leaves much to be desired.

Try searching for words like "Bank of America app," or "download Shazam" on your Android or iPhone and the app store's top search result will show at the top of the page. But I tried intentionally searching for a long list of specific apps and types of apps but didn't get the new kind of results in many cases.
